We've given ourselves a facelift!

This week was a big one here at PBATD. We launched our new and vastly improved site. In the process of adding some new merchandise to the store. We're working with a few illustrator friends of our and have three new bag designs in the work. So keep an eye out, if our original bag isn't your taste we will most likely have something that is very soon!

Unable to see the forest for the trees

While doing a bit of unrelated research today I inadvertently discovered our sites arch nemesis! Behold - Save the Plastic Bag.com, a classic case of becoming so caught up in the details and losing the big picture. To be as fair and unbiased as I can be, their site does make quite a few valid points against the use of paper bags instead of plastic.

An update to our 'Facts' section

A recent article published on the Times Online exposes a major oversight in some commonly quoted statistics related to the direct link of plastic bags and the death of marine animals. Apparently researchers in Australia misquoted a Canadian research study. Misinterpreting data showing deaths caused by marine debris, mostly derelict fishing equipment, and claimed it was the result of plastic bags.
