A recent article published on the Times Online exposes a major oversight in some commonly quoted statistics related to the direct link of plastic bags and the death of marine animals. Apparently researchers in Australia misquoted a Canadian research study. Misinterpreting data showing deaths caused by marine debris, mostly derelict fishing equipment, and claimed it was the result of plastic bags. I have removed the related statistic from the site and done by due diligence to ensure that our remaining information is in line with reliable sources.
